Disney Cruise

4 Days after Christmas we departed on a 7 Day Disney Cruise with ALL of Bill's sisters and their families; 21 in total! :)  The cruise started off a little bumpy (literally) which led to some seriuos motion sickness for Alex.  He got sick every night for the first 4 nights. Needless to say, Bill & I were about to lose it.  From talking to people on the ship who had been on Disney cruises in the past, this was the roughest seas they had ever been on.  Once we were able to put our feet on land the trip was MUCH better!!  Our first excursion was to St. Maarten.  We took a private bus tour to 2 beaches.  The first was not very kid friendly but the second was perfect.  The children were able to play in the water and build sand castles.  Once we left the beach area, we headed to the Sunset Beach Bar to watch airplanes fly in and out of St. Maarten.  To say this was the highlight of the trip for the boys is an understatement.  They LOVED every minute of it, as did all the cousins.

Having fun on the beach!!!
SEVERAL individuals were doing this while we were watching!

The 2nd excursion was in St. Thomas.  Poppa T and Momma T scheduled a sailboat trip to St. John to do some snorkeling and swimming.  The boat ride to St. John was a LONG 50 minutes.  The seas were once again rough which lead to some unfortunate sick people.  The ride to St. John was well worth it.  The water was BEAUTIFUL and the location was perfect.  After snorkeling and swimming we ate a wonderful lunch on the boat before sailing back to St. Thomas.  The ride back was MUCH better and eveyone enjoyed it.

The next day was spent at sea but it was much more enjoyable because the seas were calm.  We spent a lot of time in the arcade, kids club areas, and Will and Daddy spent time in the pool.  That evening we went to the Toy Story theatre production on the ship.  It was FANTASTIC!!!  We knew that Will would love it but Alex thought it was great!  He loved when the curtains (drapes as he called it) opened and everyone clapped.  He clapped right on cue each time with a HUGE smile.

The last excursion was to Castaway Cay, Disney's private island.  What a WONDERFUL spot.  We rented a cabana for the day which was fantastic for everyone.  Those who wanted to be out of the sun could go in and still be able to see the action and the beautiful location.  The water was perfect for the kids, shallow and very calm.  Will enjoyed being out in the water with his cousins. They spent a lot of time on floats just hanging out. Alex LOVED sitting on a float with Daddy in the water.  They stayed in the water for a long time just hanging out.  It was a sweet time for them.
